Through the years of his ministry, Bill White has served churches in rural, village, urban and suburban in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas, and for the past 27 years has been pastor of the fascinatingly diverse and generous people of Christ Journey Church, Miami, Florida.
He bears the wounds of many spiritual battles in his heart but is carried by the driving hope of Christ’s powerful love to transform brokenness into new life and opportunity. The confines of covid became the crucible in which that hope was given voice in his writings and on going deeper, growing closer, and reaching higher as Christ-followers become more Mature-ish in this Upside Down Kingdom.
He holds an MDiv and DMin from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and has done additional studies at Baylor and the University of Virginia. He has been invited to teach spiritual life and leadership in Rwanda, Brazil, Lebanon, India, and Cuba.
His community service includes Agape Ministry (for women and children) and multiple roles with Baptist Health South Florida where he was past Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Baptist Hospital of Miami and the Miami Cancer Institute.
He and his wife Lisa are the graced parents of two daughters and proud grandparents of two brilliant grandsons. In his adventures through the years Bill has been free diving in the Bahamas, rappelled a waterfall in North Carolina, mountain biking and hang gliding in the Tetons, skydiving with the Golden Knights, and riding his Harley and horses as opportunities arise. So far he has only broken ten different bones.
